Prevent fires by cleaning your dryer
PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — There is a fire concern to be aware of right inside your home – a clogged dryer vent.
It is an easy thing to forget and you may not even realize how easy it can be for a fire to spark this way. While electrical and mechanical issues account for some dryer blazes, the leading cause of these fires is a build-up of lint.

Firefighter Colten Morgan said checking everything on and around your dryer could be the difference between life and death.
“Make sure there are no combustibles around the dryer. Don’t overload your dryer, and make sure your dryer is plugged up to the correct electrical outlet,” said Morgan.
Morgan adds that you should clean the lint trap after every single use and encourage your family to do the same.
Cleaning around your washer and dryer can also helps to prevent unwanted accidents.
