Power restored after outage affected thousands in Maricopa

MARICOPA, Ariz. - Thousands of people in a city south of the Valley were left without power on Tuesday morning.

According to an outage map from Electrical District No. 3, power was out to over 33,000 customers in Maricopa on April 23.

The largest area affected by the outage was the north-central region of the city where over 23,000 people were without power.

Power was restored to nearly all customers by 11 a.m.

"UPDATE: ED3 is reporting that power has been restored to most customers across Maricopa," Maricopa Police wrote on Facebook. "This includes traffic signals and city facilities. Thank you for your patience and assistance in ensuring safety on the roads."

APS, which also provides service in Maricopa, said 86 customers from 99th Avenue to Nahalia Road and SR 239 to Kinney Road were without power at one point.
