Utility services restored for customers in south Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Huntsville Utilities (HU) says that service has been restored for most of the customers affected in south Huntsville.

According to Huntsville Utilities, the power outage was impacting customers near Logan Drive and Lily Flagg Road south to Meadowbrook Drive and from Memorial Pkwy east to Bailey Cove Road.

However, as of 6:35 p.m., crews are still working to restore power from Meadowbrook Drive to Mountain Gap Road and to Mountain Crest Drive.

Tornado Watch Up Until 9 pm Tuesday

Officials say that the outage was caused by a vehicle accident. HU is also asking customers not to approach or drive over power lines as the storms clear out. The public should also not try to remove trees, limbs, or debris from power lines.
