Power Book III: Raising Kanan has been officially greenlit for a fifth season.

The prequel series hasn't even aired its fourth season yet. In fact, season 3 only just wrapped up, while season 4 is currently filming, but network Starz has committed to another run of episodes already.

Starz's President of Original Programming, Kathryn Busby, said: "We know that our fans can't get enough of Raising Kanan. As the inevitable evolution of this young man into a killer plays out, we knew we had much more backstory to share in this ever-escalating family saga.

"As we continue to expand the storytelling within the Power universe, we're looking forward to how this story may intersect with other Power characters during this prequel era."

It's not the only way the Power roster is expanding, as it was recently announced that a brand-new TV show has been greenlit.

Power: Origins will be another prequel series, this time focusing on the characters Ghost and Tommy in their younger years.

"As we approach the 10-year anniversary of Power, it is incredible to witness the enormous connection our fans have with the Power universe," Busby said when that news was announced.

"We can't wait to see how Origins will further evolve this dynamic franchise while bringing fresh, gripping, and expansive storytelling to our audience."

Meanwhile, the release dates for the two halves of Power Book II: Ghost season 4 have also been announced.

Unfortunately, the UK home for all the Power shows, Lionsgate+, closed down recently, leaving the future of the franchise here up in the air. The aforementioned third season of Raising Kanan hasn't even been officially released here yet.
