Portuguese-American Leadership Council of the U.S. Awards Gala coming to Massachusetts

CAMBRIDGE — The Portuguese-American Leadership Council of the United States (PALCUS) Leadership Awards Gala - which showcases the achievements of Portuguese-Americans in a myriad of sectors and takes place annually in a different Portuguese community across the country - will be held in Massachusetts this year.

In its 26th edition, the gala will take place Saturday, Oct. 12 at The Charles Hotel in Cambridge, starting at 6 p.m.

Massachusetts State Senators Marc Pacheco and Michael Rodrigues will be the event’s honorary co-chairs.

The list of award recipients is yet to be announced by PALCUS.

The gala will be the main event of two days filled with PALCUS activities.

On Friday, Oct. 11, there will be a Portuguese Speaking Community Health Forum at The Charles Hotel.

It will be followed by the PALCUS Gala Welcome Reception at 6:30 p.m. at a location yet to be determined. The reception will be for gala ticket holders only.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, PALCUS members will hold their annual meeting at The Charles Hotel, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

It will be followed by the 2024 Lusitanian Forum on Heritage Portugal, which will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the hotel. The aim of this event is to discuss the current state of the Portuguese community and define what can be done to promote and secure the legacy of the Portuguese-American community and its heritage.
