This popular Columbus bar and kitchen is now open in new Highside Market location

Nonic Beer Bar & Kitchen opened in its new Highside Market location after holding a three-day soft opening earlier this month.

The restaurant, which serves pub plates and craft beer, moved to the new development on 2nd Avenue after spending seven years in its location on Broadway. The new location at Highside Market on 13th Street includes outdoor seating, a bar with 30 rotating craft beers on tap and a rooftop patio.

This move allowed Nonic to expand its space and menu.

“We’re ready to serve a new area of the community that I’m grateful to be a part of,” said Nonic co-owner Miles Greathouse in a news release.

Nonic’s downstairs dining room is open Tuesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner service. Its rooftop seating opens at 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. on the weekends.

In recent months, the restaurant hosted live music and entertainment events at its former location called ‘Nonic at Nite’. The restaurant will not continue these branded events at the former location, Highside Market spokesperson Obijeski told the Ledger-Enquirer, but Columbus residents can expect other live music events to hosted at its new location in the future.

While walk-in guests are welcomed, the restaurant encourages customers to make reservations online.

Highside Market is a reuse development with a mix of new construction and preserved structures dating back to 1939, according to the news release.

The new development is 55,000-square-feet in total with 20,000 square feet of restaurant space, 20,000 square feet of retail space and 15,000 square feet of office space. The development also has an outdoor greenspace and lounge areas.

Most businesses in Highside Market are now open after the development held a grand opening in December including Flying Biscuit Cafe, Whit’s Custard and Silver Hanger.

Nonic’s opening in Highside Market helps make the development a destination, Chris Woodruff, The Cotton Companies president, said in the news release

“Their relocation marks an exciting chapter, adding even more vibrancy and flavor to our community,” he said.
