The polls are open!

It's time to vote for the Volusia-Flagler Student of the week for the week of May 6-10.

The News-Journal gathers nominees who have shown outstanding academic and school achievement and community service. Principals or other delegated professionals can email nominees to njstudentoftheweek@gannett.com.

Voting closes at noon Thursday. Votes are restricted to one per device per hour.

Deltona High School

Kendall Donohue, 11th grade, balances academics, athletics and more. She is involved in National Honor Society, FFEA, Health Academy, HOSA, volleyball, athletic training and flag football.

Flagler-Palm Coast High School

Malina Hreib, 12th grade, is the first IB Scholar in Dance Standard Level – World Dance Study Project. She was captain of the Flagler-Palm Coast swim team in 2023, was the youngest lifeguard representing Flagler Beach in the USLA National Competition in August 2023, and has been a FPS state level competitor for six years in a row. Hreib plans to attend Stetson University and major in marine science.
