Police seek information on hit-and-run that injures bicyclist

May 11—CUMBERLAND — Cumberland Police are seeking information on a hit-and-run accident Friday night that injured a bicyclist in the area of Spring Street and Maryland Avenue.

The victim was transported to UPMC Western Maryland with non life-threatening injuries, police said.

The incident occurred about 8:35 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600 or Allegany-Mineral County Crime Solvers at 877-722-4307. Callers can remain anonymous.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has floated a requirement that AI-generated content be disclosed in political ads — but not banned. Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel made the official proposal Wednesday that the FCC investigate and seek comment on such a rule. "Consumers have a right to know when AI tools are being used in the political ads they see, and I hope [the commissioners] swiftly act on this issue," she said in a statement accompanying the announcement.

Spyware found on US hotel check-in computers
A consumer-grade spyware app has been found running on the check-in systems of at least three Wyndham hotels across the United States, TechCrunch has learned. The app, called pcTattletale, stealthily and continually captured screenshots of the hotel booking systems, which contained guest details and customer information.
