Police seek to identify skeletal remains found on Long Island in 2023: SCPD

BABYLON, Long Island (PIX11) — The Suffolk County Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify skeletal remains found around Southards Pond Park in 2023, according to officials.

The man’s death “was determined to be non-criminal in nature,” according to officials. The remains were found on Feb. 15, 2023, around 1 p.m.

The remains are believed to be from a Black man between 25 and 40 years old, according to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office. Officials said they think he was 5’11” to 6’5″ and was dead for around two years before being found.

The sketch is what officials believed the man looked like.
