Missing teen out of east Bakersfield found: BPD

UPDATE (4/15): A 14-year-old girl who was reported missing out of east Bakersfield Sunday afternoon has been located, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.


BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Police is asking for the community’s help in locating a missing teen girl last seen in east Bakersfield.

Bakersfield Police Department officials said Sa’kye Cherry, 14, was last seen Sunday in the 700 block of Lake Street, just south of Monterey Street, at about 2:30 p.m.

Cherry is considered at-risk due to her age and being a first-time runaway. Police say Sa’kye stands five feet tall and weighs 110 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes, and wears glasses.

Anyone with information regarding Cherry’s whereabouts is asked to call BPD at 661-327-7111.
