Police search for driver involved in Bucktown hit-and-run

CHICAGO — A search is underway for the driver who injured a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash on the city’s Northwest Side on Friday afternoon.

According to Chicago police, the crash unfolded just before 6 p.m. along West Armitage Avenue, near the parking lot of the Clybourn Metra Train Station, in Bucktown.

Authorities say the victim was crossing the road in the area when they were hit by a vehicle. After the crash, the driver fled the scene westbound along Armitage.

Police say the pedestrian was injured in the crash and a search for the driver is now underway.

On Tuesday, Chicago police shared a photograph of the vehicle that is believed to have been involved.

Police say they believe the vehicle involved was a black four-door Mercedes-Benz E Class, either an E320 or E350, with a model year between 2003 and 2009.
