Police release name of 57-year-old bicyclist who died after failing to stop at sign

Police have identified the bicyclist who died in a crash near Felton on Friday as 57-year-old Felton resident Robert Spencer Jr.

Spencer did not stop at a stop sign at Logan and Willow Grove roads, according to Delaware State Police, and rode into the path of a Chevrolet Tahoe. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Police are still investigating why Spencer failed to stop at the sign.
