Police: Man shot on Grand Rapids’ northeast side

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was shot on Grand Rapids’ northeast side Thursday evening, according to police.

The shooting happened around 5:21 p.m. on Clancy Avenue near Bradford Street in the Belknap Lookout Neighborhood, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department. The man who was shot has critical injuries, police said.

It’s not clear what led up to the shooting and police do not have any suspects in custody, GRPD said.

A large police presence gathered at the scene, including a K-9. Caution tape blocked off an area near railroad tracks and a forensics team appeared to be documenting evidence.
