Police looking for woman who abandoned dog in Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (DC News Now) — Police were looking for the woman who abandoned her injured dog in Woodbridge.

The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said on April 21 at around 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the Oakwood Drive and Armada Place area for a report of animal cruelty.

Police said that around 4 p.m., a woman left her dog next to a guardrail before driving away in a black Nissan. Later, someone found the dog, which had a broken leg.

The dog was about 1 to 2 years old and is a brown chihuahua mix. The dog was taken to the Animal Services Center for treatment.
