Police investigate female stabbing and battery injuries in connected altercation

MISHAWAKA — Mishawaka Police were dispatched to two different locations Monday night, finding two women injured in a connected altercation between the two.

On May 13, around 11:22 p.m., the Mishawaka Police Department was dispatched to Beacon Granger Hospital to investigate a 24-year-old woman who had been stabbed three times, a MPD press release said. Her injuries were not life threatening.

At the same time, officers responded to a Quality Inn on West University Drive, where they found a 23-year-old woman who had been battered, police said in a press release, and sustained minor facial injuries.

"Both females know one another, with this altercation stemming from an ongoing grievance between the two," the press release said.

MPD said neither woman is in custody at this time and said no one else was involved in the incident.

This case remains under investigation.
