Police: DC woman dies 1 week after being hit by car in Bowie

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) said a pedestrian died a week after being hit by a car in Bowie.

Officers responded to the area of Pleasant Prospect Road and Bishops Content Road at about 9:15 p.m. on April 23. Investigators said a driver hit 35-year-old Brittany Young of D.C., who was in the median of the roadway.

She was taken to a hospital with critical injuries and died on April 30.

The driver did remain at the scene after the collision and is cooperating with the investigation, according to PGPD.
