Police: 1 dead after shooting on Dale Drive in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A man is dead after an overnight shooting on Dale Drive, Portsmouth Police said.

Police responded to a call on the 20 block of Dale Drive around 1:19 a.m., and when officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.

Medics pronounced the man dead on the scene. Police have identified the man as 33-year-old Modrelle Britt.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help with finding 34-year-old Antonio Alonzo Collins, aka Knuckles, who they say is a person of interest in the homicide investigation.

Collins is considered armed and dangerous. He is around 6 feet tall and weighs around 180 pounds.
