The New York City subway system is a disgusting cesspool wondrous place where you'll see things you never could've imagined: clowns selling bras, rats carrying pizza, a woman unleashing a hoard of worms and crickets onto her fellow passengers just for fun, and now, a rat practicing a pole-dancing routine on an N train headed to Queens at 3 in the morning.

The above footage was shot by subway rider Andy Konrad and first appeared in the New York Post on Dec. 19. Less than a week ago, the Washington Post profiled an artist named Zardulu who claimed to be responsible for training the rats behind some of the most viral stories of the year (including Pizza Rat and the aforementioned Selfie Rat), though she did not mention giving any rodent dancing lessons.

As far as I'm concerned, a pole-dancing rat is a pole-dancing rat, whether it's a trained pet, a circus escapee, or a Midwest transplant with dreams of becoming a Broadway star.
