Planting a tree at Oak Ridge school for Arbor Day
City of Oak Ridge officials joined Glenwood Elementary School third- and fourth-grade students in the Cub Choir to plant a tulip poplar tree on April 5 during Oak Ridge’s 39th annual Arbor Day Observance.
The ceremony also marked the 36th year that the city of Oak Ridge has been recognized as a Tree City USA, according to a city news release. Tree City USA, a National Arbor Day Foundation program, recognizes U.S. towns and cities that develop comprehensive urban forestry programs.
