RALEIGH, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Several planes were intercepted Tuesday afternoon for flying in restricted airspace over the state’s capital, federal officials reported.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were both visiting Raleigh Tuesday.

Biden and Harris argue that Democrats will preserve health care and Republicans would take it away

According to NORAD, the aircraft violated a Temporary Flight Restricted (TFR) airspace between 2 and 5 p.m. and were safely escorted out of the area. An F-16 fighter jet out of Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida responded to the alert.

Biden and Harris spoke about health care at John Chavis Memorial Park in downtown Raleigh. They arrived later than expected due to the president making remarks about the collapsed bridge in Baltimore.

Temporary Flight Restrictions are posted on the Federal Aviation Administration’s website and general aviation pilots should check their Notice to Airmen and fly informed.
