Pizza Man might be planning a return to its former longtime east side Milwaukee location, according to a new public document.

A permit to install two exterior Pizza Man signs at 2595 N. Downer Ave. — where the restaurant operated for several years, before moving to 2060 N. Humboldt Ave. — was filed Thursday with the city Department of Neighborhood Services.

The sign permit was filed just a few weeks after the unexpected closure of Pizza Man's Humboldt Avenue location. It had been open just under a year.

The two-story Downer Avenue space has remained vacant since Pizza Man left in spring 2023.

Neither Pizza Man's operator nor a representative of the building's owner, Bridge33 Capital, could be immediately reached for more information.

A lawsuit involving Bridge33 Capital and Pizza Man operator Za Man LLC was settled in January, according to Milwaukee County Circuit Court online records.
