Pizza chain adding new restaurant to Hazlet Plaza

HAZLET - Work has begun to convert a storefront at Hazlet Plaza into a new Pizza Hut location.

Pizza Hut has leased a 1,500-square-foot space at 3073 Route 35 next to Harbor Freight. A sign in the window says the pizza chain is now hiring at jobs.pizzahut.com, listing jobs such as customer service, production, drivers, assistant managers and general manager.

"We’re thrilled to be opening in Hazlet," said franchisee Ed Herron, president and chief executive officer of PCF Restaurant Group, which owns 29 Pizza Hut restaurants in central and southern New Jersey. A tentative opening is set for late July, he wrote in a message to What's Going There.

The location will be for take-out and delivery orders only, he added.

In Monmouth and Ocean counties, Pizza Hut has restaurants in Brick, Jackson, Ocean Township, Stafford and Toms River.

It joins other stores at Hazlet Plaza, including Grocery Outlet, Walgreens and Goodwill.
