Pine Bluff Junior High teacher recognized, school receiving $10,000 technology grant

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – A teacher at Pine Bluff Junior High School has been recognized for her work, leading to the school receiving a technology grant.

Rack Room Shoes named Kendria Jones as one of its five teachers of the year on Tuesday. A spokesperson said Jones was nominated by students or their parents for positively impacting their lives.

One parent cited Jones’s “awesome” ability to connect with and motivate students and her work with both parents and students.

As one of the five winners, Jones will receive a $500 Rack Room gift card, and the company will also present the school with a $10,000 technology grant.

Jones will be officially recognized by Kevin Collins, Rack Room Shoes District Manager, Judy Hemphill, a parent and Assistant Principal Thaddeus Pearson on Monday, May 20, at 10 a.m. on the school campus.
