PHOTOS: Barn with RV attached destroyed in fire in Hernando County

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A barn, with a recreational vehicle attached to it, was destroyed after it caught on fire on Sunday afternoon, according to Hernando County Fire Rescue.

Just before 4 p.m., crews responded to the 26000 block of Richbarn Road in Brooksville to find a 40 x 40 barn up in flames and the fire spreading to brush on the property.

Officials said the cause of the fire was from an illegal burn.

In a 5 p.m. update, crews had put out the barn fire. During their efforts to put out this blaze, they were also working to manage several small brush fires associated with this fire.

However, crews had limited water availability due to a nearby fire in the area, located near Talisman Street, despite additional fire crews from Station 12 near Deltona boulevard and Cortez Boulevard.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported, however, crews are asking for nearby residents to avoid the area.
