ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (WJW) — Two workers fell two stories from scaffolding on Friday and were transported to a hospital, authorities said.

A FOX 8 News camera sent back photos from the scene, along Lake Road, just east of the Linda Street intersection, where the scaffolding had collapsed.

Rocky River Fire Chief Aaron Lenart told FOX 8 News that firefighters were dispatched just after 10 a.m. on Friday.

“We had a scaffolding fall and I got a guy trapped in the scaffolding now,” a 911 caller is heard telling dispatchers, in audio provided to FOX 8 News.

Construction workers at the site quickly cleared lanes to allow emergency vehicles onto the property, Lenart said.

“It looks like the scaffolding came over. Workers were up top working and ended up coming down about two stories to the ground below,” Lenart said.

Firefighters transported both workers to a local hospital, Police Chief George Lichman said.

Aid came from Lakewood and Fairview Park fire departments, as well as the Westshore Hazardous Materials and Technical Rescue Team, Lenart said.
