Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies games will be streamed this season. Here's how to watch

Sports fans who already pony up through their cable bill to watch the Eagles and Phillies will have to dig a little deeper to watch select games during the teams' respective 2024 seasons.

Several high-profile games will be made chiefly available on subscription-based, streaming-only platforms.

"Peacock will be the exclusive national home of the NFL’s first-ever regular-season game in Brazil, streaming in primetime on Fri., Sept. 6," read portion of NBCUniversals' statement. "The game, which will be played in São Paulo, marks the third Peacock exclusive NFL game following the Bills-Chargers regular season game in December 2023 and the Dolphins-Chiefs AFC Wild Card game in January 2024, which delivered the largest streaming audience in U.S. history."

Every Phillies game is also streamed on MLB.com with the MLB TV package, which you have to pay for. You can also stream the radio broadcasts with MLB audio.

Eagles Fans will need to download Peacock to watch the Birds game in Brazil

Fortunately, fans in the Philadelphia market will be able to watch the Eagles' season opener as usual on NBC. But for out-of-market fans, or fans who will be traveling that day, the only way to watch that game is to download the Peacock app.

The Peacock app requires a $5.99 monthly subscription. However, it is included in some cable subscriptions in some markets.

Phillies will stream games against the Arizona Diamondbacks, San Francisco Giants

While local Eagles fans can still watch the broadcast of the Brazil game, Phillies fans will have no option but to turn to Apple TV+ to watch games against National League rivals Arizona Diamondback and San Francisco Giants.

The games — Friday, May 3, against the Giants, and the Friday, June 21, game against the Diamondbacks — will be streamed exclusively on Apple TV+.

A monthly subscription to Apple TV+ is $9.99.

You'll also need ESPN to watch the Sunday, May 5, game against the Giants, and again for the Sunday, June 9, game against the NY Mets. That game is part of Major League Baseball's "London Series" between the two National League East rivals.

NFL pivoting to Amazon Prime for streaming playoffs; ESPN-backed joint streaming effort in the works

The NFL’s exclusively streaming playoff game will return next postseason. The service, however, will be different.

Amazon’s Prime Video has replaced Peacock as the streaming service, two people with knowledge of the situation confirmed to USA TODAY Sports. They were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter. Neither the NFL nor Amazon had comment.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the news.

NBCUniversal paid a reported $110 million for the first-ever streaming-only playoff game, which featured the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Miami Dolphins in the wild-card round. It became the most-streamed live event ever in the U.S. with an average of 23 million viewers.

And in a major move major move for streaming TV, three of the largest media companies are teaming up for a joint venture that will offer access to every major-league sport and several others.

Disney's ESPN, Fox Corp.'s Fox Sports and Warner Bros. Discovery's TNT, TBS and other networks will offer a comprehensive package this fall that includes NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL games. You won't be able to watch every game, but it's an appealing bundle for cable cord-cutters who are sports fans.

Each company will own a third of the service, which does not yet have a name, pricing information or a specific launch date, and is subject to finalizing agreements. But it's a further acknowledgment of the splintering of the cable bundle as more consumers gravitate to streaming.
