Phase 1 of W.E. Winters Park renovations to begin, City of Tyler says

TYLER, Texas (KETK) — The Tyler City Council announced that phase one of W.E. Winters Park renovations will begin soon.

According to a release, the Tyler City Council awarded a $240,846 contract to Paragon Construction and Associates that will begin the renovations of a new playground, parking lot, restrooms and pavilion with a pollinator-themed design for the park.

The second phase of Legacy Trail will also pass through the park, officials said. The 12-foot-wide trail will reportedly start at the new Stewart Park site on Frankston Highway, pass through Winters Park and end at Peete Elementary School.

The City of Tyler said the Keep Tyler Beautiful Park Capital Improvements fund will pay for the project through revenue from the Landfill Access Fee. The city will also hold a fundraiser campaign to fund phase two for the W.E. Winters Park.
