Pete’s reopens after eight months

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Pete’s on Johnston is off the sidelines and back in the game since the restaurant and sports bar closed after fire destroyed their kitchen.

Pete’s on Johnston is reopened and it’s back better than ever after eight months. With original and new items, people in the community are coming out to enjoy the Pete’s they love.

The popular restaurant and bar was closed after burning down from a grease fire back in August and undergoing a complete renovation. Clare Mayo, the general manager at Pete’s says she’s excited that there are new things for people to enjoy such as more tv’s and food items.

“It’s been eight months since we closed. So august of last year is when the fire occurred. So we’ve been in full renovation since then,” said Mayo. “So we have customized the menu to where you can pretty much do it your way. Everything’s pretty darn well customizable. We’ve also had a pizza menu, so that is really what I think is going to knock it out of the park.”

Mayo says in addition to some new menu items, there are new things and amenities people can enjoy.

“You’re standing in our private dining suite. So there’s a new feature as well. We’ve added some more adult games like pool table, the pool shooter, the golf game. So there’s a little bit of something,” said Mayo.

Some regulars who were glad to be back say they’re happy to experience the new Pete’s. Mayo says so far the first day back has been great.

“Everyone has just been overwhelmingly like, “Wow, it looks great in here.” like everybody wants to walk around, check it out. It seems like a very comfortable environment. I think we’re doing great,” said Mayo.

So if you’ve missed Pete’s come on out and see everything it has to offer.
