Pescia, Creighton and Presley promoted at Auburn Police Department

AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) – The Auburn Police Department proudly announces recent promotions within its ranks. Captain Jameson Presley has been promoted to assistant police chief effective Feb. 9, 2024, Lieutenant Michael Creighton to captain, and Lieutenant James Pescia to captain, effective March 8, 2024.

Police Chief Cedric Anderson expressed pride in the promotions, highlighting the dedication and leadership these officers bring to the department, stating, “These promotions will undoubtedly enhance our ability to serve and protect our City.”

Jameson Presley, with nearly 29 years of law enforcement experience, has been elevated to assistant chief after serving as interim assistant chief since November 2023. He brings a wealth of experience from various roles within APD, including patrolman, administrative sergeant, and administrative captain. A graduate of Auburn University and Columbus State University, Presley also served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve.

Michael Creighton, promoted to administrative captain, has a distinguished career with APD, having served in roles such as detective and sergeant. He is certified in Internal Affairs Investigation and Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events. Creighton holds degrees from Auburn University and Faulkner University.

James Pescia, promoted to patrol captain, brings extensive experience from his tenure as a patrol officer, detective, and sergeant. Additionally, he serves in the Alabama Army National Guard and holds degrees in business administration and public administration. Pescia is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy.
