Person fatally struck by train in Manhattan, No. 1 subway lines delayed: MTA
NEW YORK (PIX11) — A man was fatally struck by a train in Upper Manhattan on Friday afternoon, causing subway delays during the evening commute, according to the MTA.
Emergence teams responded to the incidents a few minutes before 4 p.m., officials said.

MTA officials said No. 1 trains will not run in either direction between 137 Street—City College and 168 Street Washington Heights until at least 5 p.m.
The man was removed from the tracks and taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The incident does not appear to be criminal in nature, according to the NYPD.
Parts of the No. 1 train run in two sections: South Ferry to 137 Street and City College and then in another section between 168 Street Washington Hieths to Van Cortlandt Park-242 Street.
MTA officials have suggested the following alternate route for service:
Consider nearby A trains for service between 207 Street and 59 Street in both directions.
For service between 96 Street and Chambers Street, take No. 3 trains.
For service between 242 Street and 225 Street, consider the Bx9 bus.
For service between 231 Street and 207 Street, consider the Bx7 bus.
