Man struck by subway in Brooklyn; R train partially suspended: MTA

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A person was struck by a subway train in Brooklyn Wednesday afternoon, resulting in part of the R line being suspended, according to the MTA.

The individual was struck at 53rd Street at around 2:02 p.m., according to the NYPD. Witnesses say the man was running on the tracks.

The train operator was unable to stop in time, police said.

R train service was suspended in Brooklyn between 36th Street and Bay Ridge Avenue-95th Street. The D, N, R, and W trains are running with severe delays in both directions.

Two other individuals were also struck by subway trains on Wednesday afternoon.

One person was struck in Queens, causing delays on the No. 7 train, officials said.

Another was struck by a train at the Cathedral Parkway–110th Street subway station in Upper Manhattan, disrupting service and causing delays to multiple trains, according to the MTA.
