Perry superintendent among finalists for Haslett schools top leadership position

HASLETT — The superintendent of Perry Public Schools is one of four school administrators being considered for the top leadership position at Haslett Public Schools.

Lori Haven has been the superintendent at Perry for nearly 5 years. The other finalists are: Hanover-Horton Schools Superintendent John Denney, Bloomfield Hills Schools Assistant Superintendent Todd Bidlack and Bay City Public Schools Chief Academic Officer Patrick Malley.

Interviews for the position will be taking place Tuesday, at 6 p.m. for Denney and 7 p.m. for Haven, and Wednesday, at 6 p.m. for Bidlack and 7 p.m. for Malley. They will take place in the board room of the Haslett Public Schools Administration Building, 5593 Franklin St.

The interviews are open to the public.

On March 12, the Haslett Public Schools superintendent, Steven Cook, announced he'd be leaving the district in August.

“For the past 20 years, it has been an honor and privilege to serve the students, staff and community,” Cook wrote in his retirement statement. “There is no better place than Haslett that I could have chosen to settle and raise my family.”
