People are really loving Tess Holliday's Cosmo cover
While some would argue that we've come a long way when it comes to representation and diversity in the media, it is still not every day you see a size 22 woman on the cover of a major publication.

That's why the October issue of Cosmopolitan UK is already getting a lot of buzz, despite not having hit the stands yet.
The cover girl is supermodel Tess Holliday. Dressed in a swimsuit, Holliday poses on the cover blowing a kiss to all the fat-shamers out there. The headline reads "Tess Holliday wants the haters to kiss her ass."
Holliday shared the cover on Twitter with an emotional caption about the lack of representation of plus size women when she was younger.
"If I saw a body like mine on this magazine when I was a young girl, it would have changed my life," Holliday writes.
Phew, I’m literally a COSMO GIRL!! Can’t believe I’m saying that! 😭😭
Thank you @CosmopolitanUK for this incredible opportunity 🙏🏻 If I saw a body like mine on this magazine when I was a young girl, it would have changed my life 💕

A lot of women are echoing this sentiment on social media, wishing that they could show this cover to their younger selves.
Yesssss! If I had seen plus women like me on magazines growing up, it wouldn't have taken 25+ years to love my body. Thank you @Tess_Holliday 😘 https://t.co/0LBo5i4m7Z

How many young women would have been out enjoying life knowing they're beautiful as they are, rather than crying over why they don't look like they "should", if photos like this were more prevalent? https://t.co/yhvnuWwRFG

Trying to figure out how different my life and self-image would be if I had grown up seeing women of all sizes represented like this. pic.twitter.com/rvN13dba74

Finally, a fat model on the cover of a major magazine who isn't wearing a trenchcoat. @Tess_Holliday looks amazing and this is awesome! https://t.co/doeHIXF9Ib

For some reason I burst into tears when I saw this. Maybe because I used to pore through women's magazines at a teen for HOURS of misery, imagining how much happier I'd be if I looked like them. I just pray this means my daughters won't waste so many formative minutes. https://t.co/pUoSjQaKFF

I think this is the actual first time I've seen the full body of a fat woman on a magazine cover AND IT IS GOOD https://t.co/dyGyuh7aAS

A reader also shared the subscriber version of the issue, which features another gorgeous shot of Holliday:

Holliday also had another thing to say about her Cosmopolitan cover.
My Cosmo cover headline should have said “FAT GIRLS HAVE SEX TOO! (& it’s bomb)”

All this just goes to show that we are more than ready for diversity in media. No more excuses, guys.
