According to a press release, the Watchman procedure helps to reduce the risk of stroke in people with Atrial Fibrillation, a condition where the upper chambers of the heart beat out of sync with the lower chambers and can lead to blood clots.

The milestone comes after the institute introduced the procedure to Northwest Florida in 2016, the release notes.
