Pedestrian struck by vehicle dies from his injuries

Apr. 18—ANDERSON — The 66-year-old Anderson man struck by a vehicle on Tuesday has died from his injuries.

Madison County Coroner Adam Matson informed the Anderson Police Department Thursday that Robert Wilson died from his injuries at an Indianapolis hospital.

Anderson police responded at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday to East Sixth Street and Scatterfield Road on a report of Wilson being struck by a vehicle.

Officers found Wilson lying in the roadway suffering from critical injuries.

The Anderson Police Department Crash Team has issued a preliminary report that the vehicle was traveling north on Scatterfield Road at the time of the accident. Wilson was attempting to cross the road.

The driver of the vehicle, Tracy Smith, 55, Alexandria, has cooperated with the investigation into the accident.
