EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — A man accused of being a drug supplier to Pennsylvania methamphetamine and fentanyl dealers faces drug trafficking operation charges.

The Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General conducted a years-long investigation into Marvin Rivera, 25, of Wilkes-Barre, alleged involvement in supplying crystal meth and heroin to drug dealers and confidential informants (CI).

According to the criminal complaint, Rivera sold large quantities of the drugs to dealers and CIs who then sold the drug between December 2021 and April 2022. Police stated the drug operation occurred in Luzerne and Lackawanna counties.

Detectives said they conducted a raid in April 2022 at a suspected drug house on Custer Street in Wilkes-Barre. As a result, they found the house was linked to a drug operation and caught a woman “covered in a powdery substance” as she flushed suspected fentanyl down the toilet, as stated in the affidavit.

Rivera is charged with six counts of drug trafficking, conspiracy to commit drug trafficking, operating an organized crime racket, and conspiring to commit organized crime.

Rivera remains in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on a $100,000 bail.
