Patrols stepped up along 'racetrack' Blaby village bypass
Police patrols have been carried out along a village bypass residents say is regularly used as a "racetrack".
Blaby Police said this week has seen them step up monitoring of the A426 Leicester Road, Blaby.
The action runs in tandem with an 18-month speed enforcement operation launched on the bypass last September by Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Road Safety Partnership.
Repeated complaints have been raised by villagers over reckless driving.
It has become a meeting point for people who they say race up and down the road, as well as revving their engines, disturbing residents.
PCSO Calum Loades said: "Now that the warmer weather has finally joined us, we're expecting more car meet activity in the coming months.
"Over the last few nights the beat team have been on the Blaby bypass at numerous times and location deterring such issues. This will continue as much as we can around other commitments, inquiries and patrols."
