Mercer Street reopens after a fire forces a partial closure

UPDATE: Thursday, March 28, 2024 | PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) – Emergency dispatchers have confirmed that the road is reopen and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.


PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) – Part of Mercer Street is closed down after a call came in about a fire around 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2024, according to Mercer County dispatchers.

The three story building housing Tony’s Barber Shop is being swept by fire crews as they battle the fire. The City of Princeton Fire Department, East River Fire Department, and Green Valley Fire Department responded to the call along with Princeton Rescue Squad and the Princeton City Police.
