SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The forecast shows the first bout of spring showers may sweep the region this weekend, bringing with it gusty winds from a cold Pacific storm.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday is expected to offer dry and mild weather before a low pressure system moves through, which will be accompanied by colder temperatures and scattered precipitation.

As explained by local meteorologists, the Pacific storm will pass through Saturday and into Sunday with periods of moderate rain expected west of the mountain areas with a few showers possibly reaching the lower deserts. The biggest impact, however, could be strong winds that NWS said will likely create blowing dust and sand.
