OVI checkpoint tonight: Here’s where

BROOK PARK, Ohio (WJW) – The Brook Park Police Department will hold a sobriety checkpoint Thursday evening.

According to the department, officers will conduct the checkpoint on Snow Road from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m.

In addition, police said motorists can expect an increased police presence with nearby saturation patrols to “aggressively combat” impaired driver-related crashes.

“If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink. Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired,” read the release.

In 1990, the Supreme Court upheld the use of sobriety checkpoints as long as they meet certain guidelines which include public notification.
