The delay will allow more time for the roads to clear in order to provide safer driving conditions.

Overnight severe weather also impacted Currituck County Schools, with excessive flooding on Pungo Ferry Road and areas of Knotts Island.

A release from the school system states that due to Friday’s scheduled early release and the impact to the roads, students who ride bus 43 will be excused from school today.
