CMPD investigating two separate homicides overnight in east Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A homicide investigation is underway after a person was killed overnight in northeast Charlotte, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police announced.

Officers responded to calls regarding the incident around 11 p.m. Thursday, March 28, near 500 Blendwood Drive in northeast Charlotte. A person was found suffering from injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is no mention of a suspect and the victim has not been identified. The homicide was one of two homicide investigations that took place overnight in east Charlotte.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown at this time and this remains an active investigation.

Charlotte Fire, Victim Services, Operations Command, Medic, and CSI were among the departments that responded to the scene. Det. Lyons is the lead on the case.
