Over 450 dogs adopted at Mega Dog Adoption Event last weekend
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Hundreds of dogs found their new furr-ever home thanks to the Mega Dog Adoption Event last weekend, the Hillsborough County government announced.
The Hillsborough County Pet Rescue Center adopted out 123 dogs during the event and was able to completely clear out one kennel, and clear out half of another.
The event, held at the Strawberry Festival fairgrounds in Plant City, featured hundreds of dogs from nine different pet shelters across the Tampa Bay area.
In total, 459 dogs were adopted from participating shelters, Hillsborough County said.
The event also featured waived adoption fees as well as offers to vaccinate, spay, neuter and microchip all of the dogs.
