Over 30 vehicles targeted in Petaluma auto burglaries

(KRON) – The Petaluma Police Department has seen an increased number of window-smash auto thefts.

More than 30 vehicles were targeted on Saturday night with various items of personal property stolen. The thefts have taken place at the Petaluma Village Premium Outlets, St. Vincent’s High School, Capri Creek Apartments, Sheraton Hotel, and other locations.

Rohnert Park police warn of uptick in thefts for this car model

The Petaluma Police Department requests community assistance for any surveillance footage that might have captured these incidents or any suspicious activity within the past 24 hours. Any information regarding these incidents or who can identify the suspect(s) to contact (707) 778-4372.

The Petaluma Police Department offers residents tips to combat auto burglaries:

  • Remember to remove any personal belongings or items of value from plain sight to deter potential thieves.

  • Park in well-lit areas.

  • If possible, park in designated parking areas with security cameras.
