Ottawa Beach General Store should reopen for holiday weekend

PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The new and improved Ottawa Beach General Store is on track to open for Memorial Weekend.

The iconic red building near Holland State Park has been a staple in the Holland community since the late 1930s. It offers ice cream, candy, camping supplies and more.

It closed at the end of the 2023 season for demolition due to sinking floors and a deteriorating foundation.

Store operator Linda Dykert said she’s hopeful the store will be open by the evening of May 24 and that visitors can expect “a fabulous new general store full of produce” and “more ice cream than anybody can eat.”

You can follow the General Store on Facebook to stay in the loop for a grand reopening announcement.
