New Orleans police investigating separate shootings an hour apart

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating two separate shootings that left two people wounded in the New Orleans East area on Friday, May 24.

According to officers, the first shooting happened around 6:45 p.m. in the 5600 block of Read Boulevard.

The second shooting happened an hour after, at 7:45 p.m., in the 7000 block of Lawrence Boulevard.

In both incidents, according to NOPD officers, both victims suffered a gunshot wound to their bodies and were taken to a hospital by car.

Their conditions were not released.
