Oregon Route 164 has reopened north of Jefferson after being closed in both directions due to a three-alarm house fire in the area, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation and the Jefferson Fire District.
The occupant of the home left food cooking unattended on a stove, a spokesperson for the fire district said. They were able to safely leave the residence with their dog.
Traffic was still slow through the area shortly after 6 p.m. and as drivers approached the bridge in Jefferson over the Santiam River, according ODOT's TripCheck.
