These are Oregon’s most expensive colleges for the 2024-2025 academic year

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The cost of college continues to rise in Oregon and around the U.S.

At private universities, a single school year is now estimated to cost undergraduate students more than $90,000, a new report states.

In Oregon, the average cost of attending a private university rose from $50,617 in 2017 to more than $60,000 in 2022, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. For the 2024-2025 academic year, Oregon’s most expensive university is estimated to cost an incoming freshman more than $88,000.

Prices are so high that some schools, such as Corban University in Salem, now include sales pitches on their websites advising students that grants and scholarships can help to lower the staggering tuition costs.

“Don’t get stuck on the sticker price!” Corban University states on its tuition webpage. “This cost is not what most students pay. Every new student will receive at least an $9,000 academic scholarship and may be eligible for other scholarships and grants.”
