The full-length trailer for Ava DuVernay’s film adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time, starring Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey and Mindy Kaling, dropped today, and the ladies’ ethereal wig game is so on point.
The trailer introduces viewers to a young girl, Meg Murry (Storm Reid), who embarks on a journey across the universe with her younger brother, Charles (Deric McCabe), and friend Calvin O’Keefe (Levi Miller) to search for their missing father, Dr. Alex Murry (Chris Pine). But their journey is much more complicated than your average Nancy Drew case.
You see, Alex found a way to travel long distances in the blink of an eye and created a fifth-dimension phenomenon known as a tesseract, which allows him to create a shortcut through time and space by literally folding the universe in half. To no surprise, his mind-boggling discovery gets him captured by a dark force, The Black Thing. So Meg, Charles and Calvin team up with a trio of celestial witches, Mrs. Which (Winfrey), Mrs. Who (Kaling) and Mrs. Whatsit (Witherspoon), in an attempt to understand the wrinkle in time and save their father from evil.
Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling and Reese Witherspoon? Yep, we’re not complaining.
A Wrinkle in Time hits theaters on March 9, 2018.
