Apple’s TV event on Monday at the Steve Jobs Theater on Apple’s Cupertino, California campus made one thing clear: the tech company is here to streamline your media consumption with Apple TV Plus.

While the internet was already chattering about Apple’s plan to produce films and TV shows in partnership with names like Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, Oprah surprised Silicon Valley insiders with a major announcement: her new partnership with Apple will include the creation of a new book club designed to live across your favorite Apple devices.

On Monday afternoon, Oprah delivered the final presentation at Apple's live-streamed event, opening up by explaining how the company helps people connect-much in the same way she used to during her 25 years on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

"There has never been a moment quite like this one," she began. "We have this unique opportunity to rise to our best selves in how we use and choose to use both our technology and our humanity...we all crave connection. That's why I have joined forces with Apple. The Apple platform allows me to do what I do in a whole new way...they're in a billion pockets, y'all!"

And then Lady O then went on to discuss her well-known passion for books and the literary world.

"There’s nothing more thrilling than being transported by a brilliant book!" Oprah said. "So I’m very pleased to announce that I plan to create the biggest, the most vibrant, the most stimulating book club on the planet."

While that nugget of news was enough to make go home and have a little R&R with their favorite Apple devices, the surprises didn’t end there. Oprah also made it clear that she plans to bring what she’s best known for-her journalistic expertise-to Apple by interviewing artists, newsmakers, and leaders. That's right-not only will there be an Oprah-led book club on all of your devices, but you'll also have new programming from Oprah right at your finger tips.

Talk about kicking off a Monday on the right foot.
